We have undertaken a comprehensive review and modernization of the socioeconomic status (SES) measures in the Elementary and Secondary surveys. Opposed to traditional measures of SES, our revised approach will focus on components that are within the influence of schooling systems and those that are more directly related to learning outcomes. Positioning our content within this perspective will ensure that all students are given the opportunity to thrive regardless of their socioeconomic status.
